Dr. Sanjay Pahuja serves as Lead Water Resources Specialist in the World Bank’s Water Practice and also as the Bank’s Focal Point for River Basin Management. His responsibilities include leading analytical work and lending operations on water resources management in the Europe and Central Asia region. He also leads the World Bank’s Complex Water Systems Initiative, which provides systems analysis support on water systems challenges of global priority. His other areas of expertise include groundwater, water quality management, and collective action on water resources.
Sanjay holds a PhD in Environment and Water Resources from MIT. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2004, Sanjay worked with CH2M HILL, with focus on water and environmental management projects in North America.
