
Christian is the lead for the International Waters focal area in the Global Environment Facility (GEF), where he has worked the last 11 years. He coordinates the focal area’s engagement across geographical regions and wet ecosystems ranging from transboundary aquifers, river and lake basins to shared Large Marine Ecosystems and Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction. The Global Environment Facility is the largest funder of Transboundary water issues.
Before joining the GEF, Christian worked in private sector companies with clean drinking water production for emergency applications, wastewater treatment using natural infrastructure, while also having held positions teaching and facilitating cooperation between Nordic and Baltic Biosystems Engineering faculties.
